Best Scallop Pies in Tasmania! Reviewed January 2016

I know this is a "big call" but having tasted this Tasmanian tradition in various places during my many trips to the Apple Isle, this one has to be the best.

Tucked away one block behind the Main Street, the Patchwork Cafe is surrounded by antique and homewares stores in an old hospital complex. It was a pleasant surprise.

The service was friendly and welcoming and the food well priced and generous. The scallop pie was the standout performer with a generous amount of scallops, tasty curry and crisp light pastry. Accompanied by a fresh salad it was the perfect lunch.

The Patchwork Cafe is well worth a return trip to New Norfolk.

Well priced and very tasty indeed Reviewed January 2016

I had a small serve of nachos was a large serve indeed and delicious, prepared with loads of grated cheese, avocado and sour cream. I thought for snack food it was definitely better than most . My friend had a sandwich that again difficult to fault . Great surrounds great food make it a must. The antiques in the adjoining building are I think the cheapest in Tasmania. Visited January 2016

Idyllic Lunch Setting, great food and venue Reviewed 3 January 2016

A warm and clear sky Sunday and lunch under the trees at this friendly, hearty establishment was idyllic. Food was reasonably priced and well presented, very tasty and service excellent. The setting amidst a canopy of tress, or inside a quaint old church like building, was glorious. Meals were well proportioned and plenty of variety for adults and kids. Coffee was fabulous. This place is certainly worth venturing off the main street for a fresh and tasty lunch. The live music  was an added bonus with the duet 'Indigo' well worth listening to. They made the stay even better.

Handy cafe with open air seating where you and your 4-legged companion can enjoy a good cuppa with friends, old and new. Good to know a place you can enjoy with your significant other: border collie and kelpie.
